Lyrics: Babymetal – BxMxC

“Babymetal – BxMxC” was released as a Japanese exclusive track on the album “Metal Galaxy” in October 2019. The lyrics i used to translate are taken out of the booklet for the physical release. As with most Japanese lyrics, the translation may vary depending on the person translating it, a bit of text interpretation is always part of the process. In this particular song i feel like i missed a lot of site notes and inside jokes regarding the Hip Hop culture and lifestyle (from Japan). You can find the Romaji Lyrics with the translation side by side down below.
Lyrics: METAL CYPHER

Translation

Like a metal cipher, Like a loop, these are roots
A rhyme braking style, creating chaos, now mosh
Like a metal cipher, break a rule and role
The time to burn your life, cross our mosh

Gesturing a pretension to change styles
Shouting for battle to seek a proof of pride
No response on the timeline, the punchline makes you faint
Put it Put it All on the line

Wanna Be
Want Some Beat

Like a metal cipher, Like a loop, these are roots
A rhyme braking style, creating chaos, now mosh
Like a metal cipher, break a rule and role
The time to burn your life, cross our mosh

Accelerating the fluctuation, skillfully decorating the words
One person two persons dancing after the starting signal
make noise Doof Wack Wack Swag Doxx WAKU WAKU ¹
Whatcha cha Whatcha cha macallit ²

Wanna Be
Want Some Beat

BxMxC

Pretension to change styles, superior in battle to seek a proof of pride
skillfully decorating the words, One person two persons dancing to extinguished starting signals
The illusion of rusted chains, real fake talk

BxMxC

Notes

1 – These are random words and noises. Since i’m not too much into Hip Hop i can’t comment on the actual meaning or intention behind those. The part “WAKU WAKU” could be the Japanese onomatopoeic word which means “excited” or “thrilled”

2 – This is not a Japanese phrase or word. The closest it comes to is the phrase “whatchamacallit” (from urbandictionary.com: a word used when the actual name of the object in question will not come to mind)

  • Awesome! Can you post the Japanese lyrics too?

  • Did you seriously just copy all of /r/BABYMETAL’s posts to you own site for ad revenue? What a piece of shit you are.

    • I am the creator of all translations on this blog. You must have landed on the wrong page to troll. My BxMxC lyrics where even linked on the translated lyrics thread on /r/BABYMETAL. Please don’t drink and internet. (By the way I don’t have a single Ad on my page or make any money with it, I spend a lot of time to create translations for people that are sick of Google translate).

      • I think “sagashi” and “odori” aren’t rapped in the second and third repititions of the final stanza (when Su ups the tempo). I wonder if this changes the meaning of the lyrics?

    • What ads? And I can’t find these lyrics anywhere on BM’s official site.

      • Yeah, there are no ads.

The guy means reddit.com/r/babymetal, where Lenzer himself shares the translations done here, that person just never saw that Lenzer was the source lol!

    • Holy cow, it is hard to look more foolish than this. Well done!

Lenzer, you the man! Thank you for all the hard work.

  • Thanks for your efforts!

  • He is the source for the translations posted on Reddit… LOL

Lenzer, how DARE you post your own translations on your website? Don’t you know they can only be posted on Reddit?

  • Hi.
I want to know if you allow me to use your translation of “BxMxC” to make a lyric video. obviously, I’ll give you the credits you deserve

    • Feel free to use it and thank you for asking 🙂

  • Types of freestyles
A CYPHER or CIPHER is an informal gathering of rappers, beatboxers, and/or breakdancers in a circle, in order to jam musically together. The term has also in recent years come to mean the crowd which forms around freestyle battles, consisting of spectators and onlookers. This group serves partly to encourage competition and partly to enhance the communal aspect of rap battles. The cipher is known for “making or breaking reputations in the hip hop community; if you are able to step into the cipher and tell your story, demonstrating your uniqueness, you might be more accepted”. These groups also serve as a way for messages about hip hop styles and knowledge to be spread, through word-of-mouth and encouraging trends in other battles.

  • Great stuff, Lenzer!

Thank you for your effort and the passion to translate and share it! ‘BxMxC’ and ‘Catch me if you can’ are my absolute favourite songs of BABYMETAL so far and I am impressed by Su’s skills @BxMxC…

  • Hi. What does BxMxC mean?Thank you!

    • Most likely it stands for “BabyMetal Cypher”. From one of the comments a link to Wikipedia about cypher.

      • It’s probably Babymetal Metal Cypher, Babymetal being one word

  • Hi Lenzer! There is situation that I figured you’d find interesting. I implore you to watch a live performance of this and watch the screens that show lyrics during the following section:
    “Sawagu Doof Wack Wack
    Swag Doxx WAKU WAKU”

And listen to Su’s vocals. You may not know, but “Dope” is an english word that means “awesome” but has drug-related connotations. Japanese lyric booklets leave out drug references often, and this is one of the cases, as Su’s vocals and the screen both say
    “Sawagu Doof Wack Wack
    Swag Dope WAKU WAKU”

    Hope this helps!

    • Thank you for you comment.

I have already seen and heard that (I was lucky enough to attend Legend Metal Galaxy and a few concerts in Europe where I’ve seen it live). The translation was done when the Album released and before BxMxC was performed live so I just decided to not change anything now.

But thank you again for throwing out this little bit of knowledge 🙂
